Industry Placement Card – Support Page
Changes to educational policy in the UK have seen an increased focus on vocational education. This includes the introduction of the Traineeship Skills Development Programme and T Level qualifications.
These new pathways into construction involve a mixture of classroom learning and extensive on-the-job experience. To support learners transitioning from the classroom into the workplace, the construction industry has introduced the Industry Placement Card.
The following card schemes will make the card available from September 2021:
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)
- Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS)
- Engineering Services SKILLcard
- JIB Plumbing Mechanical Engineering Services (JIB PMES)
Whether applying via a T Level, Traineeship or other programme route, applicants should apply to the card scheme relevant to the construction pathway undertaken by the learner.
Identifying the correct card scheme ensures the learner starts off on the right pathway into the construction industry.
Visit the FAQs section for a detailed Q&A on the Industry Placement card and use the guides below to identify the correct T Level or Traineeship pathway and which card scheme to contact when applying for a card.
