  • What is CSCS Smart Check?
  • CSCS Smart Check allows all 2.1 million cards displaying the CSCS logo to be verified using a single interface, providing employers with a quick, easy and secure way of ensuring everyone has the right CSCS card for the job they do on site.

The platform’s API can be built into existing site access systems or card checking equipment while it can also be used via CSCSSmartCheck.co.uk or downloaded as an app using Google Play or the App Store.

  • How will third parties with IT integration change?

  • What is Go Smart?
  • Go Smart is a mobile app and desktop application that has been used since 2010 to validate certain cards with a CSCS logo. Go Smart will be turned off on March 31st 2024 and all existing users of Go Smart who wish to retain a card checking function as part of site induction and/or site access solution must put transition plans in place to move across to CSCS Smart Check as soon as possible.

  • What is Changing with Go Smart?
  • Following a CLC requirement announced in December 2020, all 38 schemes that carry the CSCS logo, joined together to launch a common app to validate cards. The app was launched in April 2022 and is called CSCS Smart Check. Unlike Go Smart, CSCS Smart Check can validate every card with a CSCS logo, regardless of the scheme. This is the first time that all 2.1 million cards displaying the CSCS logo can be validated by a single app.

With CSCS Smart Check now developed and rolled out, CSCS is to withdraw Go Smart on March 31st 2024 and after this date attempted CSCS card reads via Go Smart will not work.
