Beware of misleading charges…

Published: April 10, 2014

CSCS Chief Executive Graham Wren is urging people applying for CSCS cards and booking CITB’s Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) tests through third party companies to be on their guard against misleading charging policies. The standard fee for a CSCS card is £36 and the Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test costs £21.

He says: “Our helpdesk regularly receives complaints from people who have been charged significant amounts over and above the standard fees.  Whilst there are companies offering administrative services which can be useful to some organisations and individuals, we are equally aware that the fees for such services are not always clear and this can lead to significant charges levied over and above the standard fees.  Recent examples highlighted to us showed that one company had charged an additional £25.50 for the HS&E test alone.”

Anyone who needs support can contact the CSCS Helpdesk on 0344 9944 777 to be guided through the application process including booking the appropriate test.

You can book a test online or you can call the information and booking line on 0344 994 4488.
