CRO Cards remain valid until expiry date
Published: September 8, 2017
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is reminding the industry that time is almost up for the 85,000 Construction Related Occupation (CRO) cards issued since October 2015.
CSCS stopped issuing the CRO card at the end of March this year and all cards issued since October 2015 expire on 30th September 2017. Many of the 85,000 CRO card holders are now required to register for existing or newly developed qualifications before their CRO cards expire.
It has been brought to CSCS’s attention that some CRO card holders, contractors and employers believe all CRO cards expire on the 30th September. This is not the case.
CSCS Director of Operations Gordon Jenkins said: “For the avoidance of doubt, all CRO cards will remain valid until their expiry date.
“There remains over 200,000 CRO cards that were issued before October 2015. These cards will remain valid until their expiry date. When checking cards, site managers and supervisors should check the expiry date displayed on the card and if the card is in date it should be accepted when presented on site.”
