 How do I apply for my card?

To apply for a CSCS card you must prove you have the appropriate construction related qualifications and training for the job you do. In most cases you must pass the appropriate CITB Health Safety and Environment Test within the previous two years. Exemptions to this requirement are listed here.

The type of CITB Health Safety and Environment Test you need to pass will depend on the job you do and the type of card you are applying for.

Use the CSCS online cardfinder to find out which card you should apply for and which type of CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test you need to take.

If you have achieved the correct qualifications and completed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test (within the previous two years), please call the CSCS Contact Centre on 0344 994 4777 to apply for your card.

Most successful applications result in the card been dispatched the next working day.

I have lost my CSCS card, how do I order a new one and how much does it cost?

A duplicate card can be requested from the CSCS Helpline on 0344 994 4777, this will cost £30.00 and payment can be taken over the phone using a credit/debit card.

 

I understand the requirements for labourers who want to apply for a CSCS card have changed. What are the new requirements?

People who want to apply for the new labourer card and work in a labouring occupation need to provide evidence that they have achieved one of the following:

QCF Level 1 Award Health and Safety in a Construction Environment or the SQCF Level 4 equivalent.

They must also pass the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment test within two years prior to applying for a new card.
