CSCS has robust procedures in place to verify qualifications and ensure that all cards issued have a genuine qualification behind them.
Qualification fraud normally involves organised criminals assisting candidates to obtain a genuine qualification. While most centres delivering qualifications uphold the standards required, there are instances when a centreβs integrity becomes compromised.
CSCS relies on Awarding Organisations to monitor the performance of their approved training providers and to verify that an individual has achieved the required qualifications before CSCS issue a card. If we are alerted to suspicious activity at a testing or training centre, CSCS can and does revoke cards issued at that time by the centre.
Employers and other stakeholders within construction are crucial in helping CSCS tackle fraud by checking not only cards but qualifications too.
If you know someone who holds a qualification they didn’t achieve or work with someone you believe doesn’t have the skills and knowledge to hold the qualification on their CSCS card, please report it to CSCS via: intel@cscs.co.uk.
