Introducing My Skills – part of the new My CSCS app!

We’re excited to introduce the new My Skills section within the My CSCS app – industry’s digital skills passport.  

The app is undergoing a series of upgrades and improvements to ensure it is fit for purpose in helping cardholders and employers demonstrate competence in line with the Building Safety Act 2022. 

My Skills is designed to consolidate all your qualifications, skills, CPD and CITB Health, safety & environment test (HS&E) records in one place, making it easier than ever to showcase your professional profile, manage your credentials, and share an up-to-date CV-style skills summary. 

Qualifications and CITB HS&E tests can then be verified by employers from within the app via CSCS Smart Check. 

What is My Skills?

My Skills is a one-stop-shop for all your training and qualification records as part My CSCS – your digital skills passport. It contains: 

• Qualifications used as part of your CSCS application and verified by CSCS. 

• Additional Skills and CPD gained through training, recognised qualifications, or self-verified uploads. 

• CITB HS&E tests you’ve passed, verified by CSCS and CITB. 

The ‘Me’ section

The Me tab is a resume-style overview of everything in your skills passport – cards, training, qualifications, HS&E tests and any other skills you upload. Here, you can: 

• View a consolidated summary of your CSCS cards and your learning achievements 

• Click the Share icon to export a PDF encompassing: 

• CSCS cards 

• Training & qualifications 

• HS&E tests 

• Other CPD and skills 

This PDF can be emailed or stored on your phone, ideal for the next time you need to present your skills and training records. 

Qualifications

Under Qualifications, you’ll find every verified qualification used within your CSCS applications. Key features include: 

• A verified icon to confirm each qualification has been verified by CSCS 

• Document viewer letting you tap and review the original upload  

This ensures employers and site managers can see the exact certificates and qualifications you hold as part of their legal obligations under the Building Safety Act. 

Skills  

The Skills section displays: 

• Approved skills derived from certain qualifications or additional requirements 

• Self-verified skills, which you can add or remove yourself 

• Verified icon for skills validated by CSCS 

• Document viewer for any supporting files  

This means you can highlight any industry-standard competencies and store any custom skills or CPD relevant to your specific craft. 

CITB HS&E tests

Just like the Skills tab, the ‘HS&E’ screen lists: 

• All verified CITB HS&E tests you’ve passed 

• Document viewer for test certificates  

Keeping these records at your fingertips ensures you’re always ready to demonstrate elements of competence such as qualifications and training as well as your health and safety credentials.
