The My CSCS app – turning on notifications

Sep 02, 2026

To ensure you’re kept up to date around changes to the scheme, applications and renewals or any developments to My CSCS or CSCS Smart Check, it’s recommended for cardholders using the app to have their notification settings turned on.

Turning notifications on only takes a few seconds and means we can send you important updates via the app, in addition to the usual methods of email and post.

The first way to do this is on your phone. Go into your device settings, find My CSCS in your list of apps, and make sure notifications are switched on.

On iPhone this is Settings, then Notifications, then My CSCS.

On Android it’s usually Settings, then Apps, then My CSCS, then Notifications. Without this switched on, the app cannot send anything to your phone at all, whatever you choose inside the app itself.

Secondly, you’ll also need to turn on notifications within the app itself. Open My CSCS, go to Settings, then Communications Preferences, and tick that you’re happy to receive app notifications from us.

Both steps are required and checking them both will mean you won’t miss out on the reminders that matter most.

In addition to push notifications sent to your phone’s home screen, you can also find any message we send via the app within its notification centre. You can access this via the bell icon in the top right hand corner of the My CSCS home page.
