For those who interested, or have started, a career in construction, a CSCS Red Card – Apprentice, Trainee, Industry Placement – is the best card to start with. It demonstrates you are on a recognised training pathway that will lead to a skilled role.

My CSCS, Your Digital Passport 

Applying for and managing a CSCS card is easiest through the My CSCS app, which allows individuals to: 

• Apply for, or renew, a CSCS card  

• Access and manage their digital card as soon as their application is accepted 

In addition, the My Skills section of the app can store additional training, evidence of Continuous Professional Development and other records in one place, allowing users to showcase their professional profile, manage credentials, and share an up-to-date CV-style skills summary.

Supporting safe and compliant sites with CSCS Smart Check 

Many sites participating in Open Doors use the CSCS Smart Check API to manage site access. CSCS Smart Check is the border control system industry should use as part of their site access and induction systems and protocols, as per Construction Leadership Council guidelines, to verify CSCS Alliance cards.
