Loading Bay Equipment Installer occupation moves to the Door and Hardware Federation

The Door and Hardware Federation (DHF) will begin issuing cards for the Loading Bay Equipment Installer occupation from 1st September 2025, as part of its role within the CSCS Alliance.

The transition of the occupation from CSCS to DHF represents an important change for existing cardholders, new applicants and training providers to be aware of, in particular when it comes to timeframes for new applications, renewals and the gaining of relevant qualifications.

Below is a summary of what industry needs to know:

Loading Bay Equipment Installers applying for a new CSCS Card

– If you are a Loading Bay Equipment Installer applying for your first Skilled Worker card, you may apply through either CSCS or DHF between 1st September and 31st December 2025.

– From 1st January 2026, all applications must be made through DHF. CSCS will no longer accept applications for this occupation.

Loading Bay Equipment Installers with a CSCS Card Expiring Between Now and June 2026

If you are a Loading Bay Equipment Installer whose current Skilled Worker card is due to expire between now and June 2026:

– Providing your card has less than 6 months validity remaining at the time you apply, you may renew your card between 1st September and 31st December 2025 through CSCS or you can choose to apply directly to DHF.

– From 1st January 2026, all applications must be made through DHF. CSCS will no longer accept applications for this occupation.

Loading Bay Equipment Installers with a CSCS Card Expiring After June 2026

If you are a Loading Bay Equipment Installer whose current Skilled Worker card expires after June 2026:

– You will need to apply for your renewal directly through DHF when the time comes.

– CSCS will no longer process applications for this occupation from 1st January 2026 onward.

Loading Bay Equipment Installers with Trainee cards

If you are a Loading Bay Equipment Installer that currently holds a Trainee CSCS card for the occupation and will complete your qualification (and apply for a Skilled Worker card) before 31st December 2025 you may apply through either CSCS or DHF.

– If you will complete your qualification (and apply for a Skilled Worker card) from 1st January 2026, all applications must be submitted to DHF.

Training Providers with Active Registrations for the Qualification

Training providers with currently registered (or newly registering) candidates should note:

– From 1st September 2025, DHF begin issuing cards for this occupation.

– Between 1st September and 31st December 2025, candidates may apply through CSCS for a Trainee card. If the qualification is completed within this time candidates may apply for their Skilled Worker card through CSCS or DHF.

– From 1st January 2026, all applications must be made through DHF. CSCS will no longer accept applications for this occupation.
