Thermal Insulation occupations moved to TICA

Published: June 2, 2017

The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is notifying the industry the Thermal Insulation Operative will be transferred to the new TICA Skill Card.

Following discussions between the two schemes, it is agreed that the TICA Skill card is better placed to represent the Thermal Insulation sector and that this occupation should be transferred.

From the 19th June 2017, all new applications both for first time applications and renewals for Thermal Insulation operative should be directed to the TICA Skill Card. More information can be found here http://tica-acad.co.uk/tica-skill-card/ or call 03333 237751

CSCS applications received before 19th June 2017 will be issued with a CSCS card that is valid for five years, however this card is non-renewable and the card holder will be required to transfer to the TICA Skillcard when the card expires.

As part of the card renewal process CSCS will be reminding card holders of the steps to be taken to move across to the TICA SkillCard.

The advice issued above will remove some of the complexity surrounding having two cards for the Thermal Insulation sector and is fully supported by the CSCS and TICA, as well as the wider Thermal Insulation industry.
