If you experience problems with My CSCS that are not covered in the instructions listed below, please contact us.

Only individual applications should be made via the app. Employers, Training Providers and Third Parties should apply via CSCS Online but may wish to encourage their workforce or customers to download the app and access their digital skills passport.

My CSCS support

My Skills is a section within the My CSCS app, designed to consolidate all your qualifications, skills, CPD and CITB Health, safety & environment test (HS&E) records in one place. This makes it easier than ever to showcase your professional profile, manage your credentials, and share an up-to-date CV-style skills summary.

Qualifications and CITB HS&E tests can then be verified by employers from within the app via CSCS Smart Check.

FAQs

Can I add skills to my CSCS Online account via the Web?

No, My Skills is only available via the My CSCS app.

Why won’t my certificate upload?

When uploading your certificate to My Skills, it must be in JPG, PNG or PDF format and no larger than 5MB.

Why is the My Skills section not showing in the app?

If you experience problems accessing the My Skills section of the app, you may need to update or re-download it and try again.

Your digital CSCS card can be used to prove your qualifications and training in the same way a physical CSCS card can be. To use your virtual card:

  • Sign into the CSCS app.
  • Tap the “My Cards” icon on the navigation bar. This will take you to the “My Cards” tab, which displays the CSCS cards you hold.
  • Select the card you require and a dynamic QR code will appear beneath. This QR code can be scanned via CSCS Smart Check or the card can be verified via manual entry.
  • Tap the card again and it will show your occupation and the card’s expiry date. The qualification will also be visible when scanned via CSCS Smart Check.

To find out which type of CSCS card to apply for, select the relevant application flow from the list below in My CSCS.

The app will confirm the correct card for you.

  • Upload qualification
  • Select occupation
  • I’m registered for a qualification
  • I’m new to construction

Within the My Skills section, certain elements are verified by CSCS using APIs to awarding organisations or other industry bodies. Some parts of My Skills are Self-Verified which means they are uploaded by the cardholder and are not verified by CSCS.

  • Verified means that a document uploaded as part of the card application has subsequently been approved by CSCS. This could be an S/NVQ or a CITB Health, safety and environment test.
  • Self-Verified means a document that has been uploaded by a cardholder but has not been verified by CSCS. This could be a Toolbox Talk or Continuous Professional Development certificate.

When exporting and sharing your skills summary, please be vigilant and ensure you only send it to trusted individuals and organisations.
